The flavor is outstanding, with that dry but nutty, hot pungency Asian cooking demands. Thai Dragon is excellent when used fresh but when the fall frost threatens, bring in the heavily laden branches and hang them upside down to dry for a colorful and abundant supply of pungent flavorful Chiles all year long.
Plant these peppers in a full sun location 12-24 inches apart. Peppers require a moist well-draining soil, and mulching of the plants to help retain the soil moisture and prohibit weeds. This pepper also likes fertilizing. You can mix 2 tbs. of Epsom Salts in a gallon of water. Spray this on the plant leaves during bloom time and it will provide a magnesium boost that will strengthen the plant and increase the plant yield. The plant will reach a height of 12-24 inches, and with the colorful peppers, it is a very attractive plant. The decorative appeal of this pepper also makes it ideal for containers and used in gardens as an attractive accent plant. Expect harvest in 70-80 days (from seeding). As with all HOT peppers, use protective gloves and goggles when handling these peppers, as the oils can burn unprotected skin. These peppers dry very well for long storage, and they keep their heat.
