Dragons Collection: Fire Dragon

Our vibrantly colored Fire Dragon features 3 twisting heads each having their own special power. To add to its fearsomeness is a transparent orange flame shooting from its mouth. This terrible trio of heads will frighten even the bravest of men. Each head presents a different danger: poisonous fire, a burning blaze or freezing flames. As always, this model is painted by hand and includes educational information in 5 languages.

About Dragon Mystic

I fell in love with dragons when I read Tea With the Black Dragon, and never looked back. Not the clunky winged Medieval dragons that ate cows, the graceful Asian dragons that could fly without wings. Later I discovered the elegant Welsh dragons, red and white, as described by R.J. Stewart in his books on the historical Merlin.

One of Safari Ltd’s most attractive dragons A worthwhile piece for 15 USD, but a great buy for 8 USD. The plastic is hard (while still being slightly flexible) and durable. The paint coat doesn’t seem like it will come off any time soon, nor do any of the appendages, although the flame will be the first to go if anything breaks. I was considering breaking it off myself to increase the utility of the toy – one of the others in the store where I purchased mine had the flame broken off, showing that if I were to do that, a small amount of the translucent plastic would still be visible in the back of the dragon’s mouth (The flame is translucent, while the rest of the body is opaque). The sculpt is detailed enough, and the colours are slightly darker than in the manufacturer’s image, but they look better with the additional shade. The only complaint I have (nitpicking) with this is the quality of the paint job – some of the colours run past where they ought to have been, even in places that are not difficult to paint (this was most noticeable along the spine in mine). However, from a foot away, the paint job looks fine; I do not intend to re-paint it.LxWxH: 10x4x4 in. Made in China. The tail doesn’t touch the ground. I am planning to mount mine on a 4″ plastic disc for use as a wargaming miniature (it should work well for 1/72 scale/25mm scale), which the feet will just barely fit on.
